The sardine collection by Bordallo Pinheiro results from a collaboration between the earthenware factory of Caldas da Rainha, EGEAC (Lisbon’s Cultural and Animation municipal entity) and Lisbon’s City Council. The original Bordallo Pinheiro sardine, designed in the XIX century, due to its classic three-dimensional nature, became the ideal support for receiving the creative work from EGEAC. Designed by Daniel Rodrigues. This sardine was inspired by the following concept: if you had to dress sardines for the city’s festivals, what would they look like? The answer is this suggestion, in which jeans dominate (with the details of the pockets’ seams), over fun, striped socks evoking Chapitô performing arts school and its neighborhood feel.
